I plan on trying Arlene! I just need to wait until I can get some seeds from it. It's perfect for the cliff because it likes dry areas. If I can gather some seed, would you like some?
I adore surprises!!! You are so awesome! I'll look through my seeds, if I can find them, and maybe I can find a surprise for you, too! We're still living out of boxes, but I think I spotted the seed box a few days ago. Now my DH has moved things around in the shop, and I can't find it again!
As soon as the Asclepias speciosa produces seeds, I'll put your name on some of them. They really are beautiful. They are so far away from the house that I never spotted them until yesterday, even though they are next to the driveway. Guess I'm too busy making sure I'm not running over any bunnies or deer when I'm driving!
I totally understand about living out of boxes as I have moved several times. Don't worry about it and when the asclepia seeds, if you get some great, but if not, no worries!
This was our 18th move, and hopefully the last one. Most of the others were because of the Navy. We never planned on staying in Utah when my husband retired, and figured we would be out of there and living in Montana in 6 months at the most. That had always been the plan after retirement. Well, we decided that we were sick and tired of moving, so we stayed 11 years and put down some roots. Then we got root rot, and it was time to go again! I still can't believe how lucky we got, finding this chuck of Heaven in Idaho. I never pictured myself living in Idaho, but it's perfect!
Don't worry, I will get some seeds! I just don't know if they will grow! If I only get two seeds, I'll send you half!
I used to enjoy moving, especially when the Navy was paying someone to move us. On our own, it's not very much fun! I always liked moving to new places, and was usually glad when it was time to move on. We've lived in some great places, and not so great places. I think I'll stay here and hope root rot doesn't set in again!
