Thread OP

I will be moving to Hohenwald in a year. I have never gardened but we will be homesteading there. Saying I need HELP is an understatement.

I will be up on our property July 15-20. I am interesed in getting feedback about vegetables and fruits that are the easiest to grow in that area. I am going to need encouragement and so I figured that putting something down that will be most likely to survive my first time out is best. This will encourage me that I CAN DO IT . :)

I'm very overwhelmed to say the least.

Also, if there is anything I can plant while here this trip and with lttile to no nuturing, will take off on it's own and grow wild...that would be incredible and good to know.

Any feedback??? (if I sound crazy and like I am asking for a miracle... I am both ) hehehe

Thanks ya'll !!! Diahann I'm all ears!

Hello, buy yourself a Plum Crazy Hibiscus and plant it. We have alot of clay soil in areas here. I am in Knoxville. I usually did a hole and fill it with Miracle Grow soil and some humus and some perilite and plant away. I have many plants and flowers. That Hibiscus I planted 3 springs ago now grows 5 feet high and 5 feet wide with big plate size flowers. I will take a picture if I can remember soon as it blooms this year.
