I have missed you all so so much! Ive just been a super busy girl here the last couple months. I moved into my new house and have been unpacking and gardening every day since. Before I was so worried about having an area to plant my semp bed and now I have it...... (Note: A BIG work in progress)
So many have helped me by sending me semps! Thank you all. I have a lot to update you guys on but here are some pic's of my new semp bed. This bed had at least a few hundred rocks (some boulders) along with weeds that needed to come out before we could do anything with it.
Here is a before pic of the bed...not a great shot but you can kind of see how much crapola was in there that needed to come out...
Here is my new SEMP BED!!!
Some closeups...
For the plant markers we used these alluminum paint brushes, took the bristles off, and take a hammer to flatten them out. I used my dad's dymo label maker and attached the names on the markers...
Thats what I have so far! They are all doing great! Next I will post the empty beds so you guys can help me figure out what to do with them
Here are my empty beds and some pic's of my new house. Let me know if you have any idea's of what could go in the beds. Im so super excited to be able to finally plant these. I am still busy unpacking the house and whatnot but I do yard work daily so it should get finished real quick.
The whole backyard was all weeds so we killed those and the just put down the grass seed.
Here is a stump (came with the house) YAY!
Front
Walkway from the front to the backyard which has a wooden gate.
PS: Look at what my wonderful hubby made for me on Saturday while I was unpacking!!! He's so talented:
Love you new semp bed and stump. Looks like you could do about anything in those beds. What a fabulous house! Enjoy making it your home. Beautiful hardwood floors!!!
Jackie, I am so excited for you.
I love your house, and look at that beautiful green lawn. Better yet, look at all those areas to plant in. With awesome rocks to use.
Oh yes, I too love the hardwood floors. And the bed that your hubby made you.
Your new semp bed looks amazing. By this time next year it will be well on it's way to filling up with new generations of semps.
You have been very busy.
Oh Jackie! Your semp bed looks AMAZING You've cerainly put a lot of hard work into it I can't wait to see what you do with the rest of the garden, your new home is in a beautiful location, oh and the house isn't to shabby either!!
Some Delosperma are and some are not. Some are one year and not the next. It is a crap shoot. But I winter sowed quite a bit of Stardust. I will put it in several different spots and see what happens.
No the seedlings haven't bloomed yet. I have never seen Stardust bloom so I have nothing to compare it to. The seed pack said it was hardy to zone 6. I'm not even sure if it will bloom this year. But it sure is cool looking. Starts out like two fingers in a peace sign!
I know that was on my want list so I am super excited that Jennifer is bringing me some Stardust!!! Yay!!! I will responsibility more later when I get home. For some reason this site doesnt work to great on my phone lol
