Terrariums are making a big comeback! Already a growing trend from last year, terrariums are really taking off this year as this long snowy winter is helping to increase interest in indoor plants, and terrariums are a really low-maintenance way of having houseplants. They limit the need for watering and they protect the plants from curious pets.

A fantastic book by Tovah Martin gives you all the information you need to assemble your own stylish terrarium. (They've come a long way since our grade school science projects.) I was able to find the book at my local library last month. It's a quick read, with loads of photos and terrarium friendly plant lists.

Terrariums were huge in Victorian times, then made a comeback in the 60's......... now here we are again, with them making Another Comeback?!?!

Susan, I remember them also being huge in the 70s... when I was in high school, we had a huge glass bottle (the kind they used for water coolers) that Mom used to make a terrarium. That would have been after 1975.

hmmmm maybe it was the 70's..... I would have been in my 20's and I remember having one in my home, so that would be about right.

They made a come-back IN OUR YOUTH -- yeah, that's it! Who needs to worry about which decade it was?
