JWWC, please keep us updated on this. Dragonfly Dawn is super expensive, and if the seller doesn't fix this, or give you back your money, everyone needs to be made aware of that fact.

I've tried contacting the seller, PayPal and the credit card company if I don't hear back from the seller in the next few days I will dispute the charge. Went through and removed all the crosses I was planning on using DD as a parent this year. Oh well.

Bummer that you had to do that. Sets you back an entire year, which really stinks.

Went to the website for where you purchased the dragonfly Dawn imposter and there are a few red flags!

1). They are using other people's pictures - DD picture is hybridizers
2). No pictures of the farm/people or even the name of the people/family
3). Refund/ return policy is 7 days(you pay return postage) and never mentions plants guarenteed to be true to name ( when they bloom)

Yes yes, I know that now. I filed a claim with the credit card this morning - they credited my account immediately. Will call to follow up tomorrow.

I did a little retail therapy and bought a fan of WAVES OF JOY from a reputable seller on the auction, for $100 less than it's been going for so there's that. Big Grin

I was looking at their website (Baylin) and the daylily you received looks suspiciously like Paper Butterfly which they sell also.

Also, the Jeffcoats' Singing Oakes have SC Freaky Tiki for $15. I ordered from them earlier this season and they sent 4 fans Thumbs up

Hurray! Hurray! JWWC! These folks need to be taught a lesson. Makes me wonder if they have been doing this to everyone. Wouldn't surprise me, since you can't get in contact with them, and neither can Paypal. I'm glad that your credit card company came through for you. Now you can repurchase them from a trusted source. AND, Hurray! for some retail therapy! I hate it when people get ripped off, especially good people like you!

OldGardener, I don't think it's Paper Butterfly, if the picture on that site is accurate. JWWC's has color along the edges, and that one doesn't.

You are right - I am so sorry - I absolutely missed the edge. JWWC's d/l doesn't seem to match much of anything else on that site.

It really angers me when someone gets ripped off like that. Grumbling

No need to apologize! Some of these blooms have just the slightest bit of difference, and it's so easy to get them mixed up! When I first looked at that picture, I thought it was the right one too. I couldn't find anything that looked right either, but after a while, they all started looking alike! I was having fun trying to find the right one though!

And yes, it makes me so angry when this happens. I can see one being an accident, because that happens, but two of them? That is just wrong, especially on such high priced plants.

I agree that when it is two, it really is very suspicious. I think that because most gardeners are honorable folks, I tend to forget that there are some pretty unscrupulous people out there in the industry, too.

JWWC, did you take a picture of the other one that wasn't Dragonfly Dawn? I'd love to see if I can figure out what it is from the pictures on the sellers site. I'm obviously bored! Rolling on the floor laughing

OldGardener, I couldn't agree more about most gardeners being honest folks. I think that is why I really like gardening, and other gardeners! Thumbs up

Thanks everyone. The blooms are not my favorite but they are quite large. If I knew what they were I would be more apt to keep them! FIRECRACKER PARADE opened this morning (for the 4th obviously Sticking tongue out ) and its the wrong plant! But it's a different plant. If I see DD from someone I know on the auction I will try to snag it otherwise ill probably order it after I move. I'm thinking now I will use these plants to fill in when I dig up the ones I want to take with me.

Natalie we posted at the same time. I'm 95% certain it's the same as FT but ill grab a pic if there's a bloom open.

JWWC, did you buy Firecracker Parade from them too? Either way, Grumbling I feel really bad for you! This happened to me my very first year that I got into daylilies, but mine were all lower priced, and came from a local seller, who made it up to me with other plants.

The order was dragonfly dawn, boogie woogie blues, firecracker parade, frogs eye, and sc freaky tiki. I was happy to have found dd and firecracker parade "in stock" so I placed the order. When I did I got a response that they were out of town for a period and would ship when they returned. They did and I didn't think much of it. Until the plants bloomed. Now they seem to have fallen off the face of the earth and I'm curious how many other people they did this to. Last year was the second year that I ordered plants that were more expensive and I've certainly learned a lot since then. Don't get me wrong I've had a lot of amazing, positive experiences too.

3 down 2 to go!

I'm being sneaky. I just sent them an e-mail, asking if they have an expensive daylily in stock. Now to go look for those two imposters above!
