Your pictures of SC Freaky Tiki and Dragonfly Dawn almost look like the same flower to me. This company is really starting to make me mad! Grumbling

Ouch... that's beyond painful. When you mentioned Baylins I thought I recognized the name and did a search for it on Daves, but didn't find it. -I guess it was just a site I went to over the winter, and I'm glad I didn't buy from them. I hope you can get it straightened out in your favor. --Don't know why they would do this if they want to stay in business. Angry

No word back from them on the e-mail that I sent. I really thought I would have heard back right away!

They might have taken a long weekend for the 4th of July. I'll be surprised if you don't hear from them by Monday at the latest.

You could pepper their FB page with questions, of course, they don't seem to be active there either but it gets a warning out to the public who may be searching for more info about them.

Hi folks, I'm new to this forum. I found it because I purchased 4 different daylilies from Baylin's Daylily Farm last summer, and now this summer they just came into bloom. I purchased Bullfrog Kisses, Cimmaron Rose, Born to Run and Queen's Coronation. The first three have finally bloomed, and they were not even close to what was sold to me. Wrong names and very poor flowers at that. I wrote an email to Baylin's 2 days ago, but have received no response. This morning I tried calling the phone numbers on the website, but got no answer, and was unable to leave a message. I'm sure I've been taken. Baylin's does not appear to be an honest seller at all. I'll try going through paypal (used to pay them) and/or my credit card company, but don't hold out much hope for recovering my money. Wish I knew some good daylily company's that can be trusted to sell true-to-name daylilies.

Welcome! to ATP. Fortunately, there are many good, honest sellers out there. 2 of my favorites are Maryott's https://daylilygarden.net/cgi-... (they are running their summer special right now) and Robin Calderon of Earlybird (she's having to scale back due to severe drought and currently is offering a 25% discount). There are a lot of other great sellers, too, but you cannot go wrong with these 2 either.

I am so sorry that this has happened to you, too. Hopefully, the word will get out fast. Please let us know how it goes for you.

Again, Welcome! to ATP.

Welcome! Jerry! Sorry we get to commiserate in this thread. Would you mind posting pics of the flowers you were sent? I'm kind of curious if they just sent out the same plants to everyone.

I filled out a form to try to add Baylins to Dave's Watchdog, and noticed the email address had DeSusan in it. Again.. my memory's not the best but I thought it sounded familiar. Did a google search and it looks like they use to sell on the LA - and their feedback has some negatives and neutrals in it. --I don't know if they're the same people or not, but thought it was curious.

Edited to add here's the link on Dave's if you want to leave feedback for Baylins:

If you've never left feedback before you'll need to register and whatever feedback you leave will be emailed to the company. If you work it out after leaving feedback you can always edit what you've left to let people know the company worked with you.

JerryPataskala - are you by chance in central Ohio? there is a town there called Pataskala. That's not a name you see often. If so, there are quite a few people who sell quality plants local to Pataskala that you might try.

I feel so fortunate. I began ordering flowers using the web last year and so far only one flower wasn't sent correctly. Luckily it wasn't expensive under $5. Ordered most of my Stout bed online.
Lesson do research on the site before ordering. Most of the sites I use are advetising in the Daylily Journal or hybridizers met at regional and club meetings. Good reasons to join a local club and become a member of the AHS.

Wow, I'm glad I came across this thread. I was looking at some of the available items on Baylin's website. Since I'm not going there anymore, anyone have any suggestions as to reputable places with large selections? I'd really prefer not to order from some of the large commercial places that don't specialize in daylilies. I'm trying to find Night Embers, Sunday Gloves, Royal Braid, Druid's Chant, Mildred Mitchell and some others that I dont' remember off the top of my head.

Welcome!

Marietta Gardens has at least a couple of the ones you listed above.

You can also check out the recommendations list at the top of the page to see what people have to say about certain nurseries.

I have ordered daylilies online from a lot of trustworthy dealers. My newest one is O'Bannon Springs, and I can recommend them wholeheartedly! Also have purchased from Cherished Memories, Marietta's, Cottage Gardens, Oakes, among others. This year I ordered some from Maryott's BOGO sale, including North Wind Dancer, 2 double fan plants for $17.

Thanks for letting me know about the sale at Maryott's! I just ordered North Wind Dancer too! That a great deal!!

Well, I had to go to Baylins daylilies, and I will say one thing positive - they have a nice catalog of pictures, and the basic facts about each one! Now you can go to a reputable company and order your faves. Their 7 day return for refund doesn't get it at all!!! A plant would have to be near dead to qualify and how would you ever know what it was? I'm trying to figure out how someone could get away with running a scam like this - probably just send out a few of the less expensive ones and take our money and run...I wonder how long they could get away with it? Maybe for a long time if they keep changing names and e-mail addresses? A good lesson though, go to someone who guarantees the plants to be the ones named. I let a few mistakes go when I am ordering from, like Gilbert Wild's for 2 or 3.00 a plant.

I never did hear back from Baylins. Not sure why, but I wasn't happy about that. They could have at least responded with something! I agree totally about their return policy, which isn't good at all.

I am being very conservative this year (it's about time!) and not ordering from Maryotts end of summer sale. I'm not, I'm not, I'm not!!!. (We'll see how long that lasts when the first social security check hits the bank Hilarious! Hilarious! ) Adding my hearty endorsement to the above for Maryott's.
It’s okay to not know all the answers.

This was my first order from Maryotts, or from any online source really! I always bought my daylilies from a local seller, and picked them up in person. I just couldn't go wrong! But, I've moved to a new state, so I thought I'd check the site, since you mentioned the great deal you got on North Wind Dancer! I had to buy a couple more, of course, but what a great deal on the buy one get one double fan sale!
