I can't say that I ever pre-plan or concentrate overmuch on my cut flower arrangements, but I do occasionally toss one together. For me, they're mood lifters...however they turn out.
My first for the 2013 season began simply as a way to utilize several floppy stems that were in the way for weeding tasks.
What a neat way of labeling a photo. I am going to have to learn how to do that. Glad you are posting here. I would love for this forum to be revitalized again.
I know what I am going to be asking from you in this year's piggy swap - is the sneezewort easy to grow? I have never seen an achillea with such large flowers. Also the Japanese meadowsweet - does that last as a cut flower? I tried growing astilbe, but no luck so far, and that looks like a good substitute.

I'm not sure about the lasting qualities of cut meadowsweet, but I'll keep an eye on it and let you know. Keep in mind that my cut arrangements live outdoors so that may skew the results a bit.
The sneezewort is very easy to grow. It's likely taller and floppier than most would prefer but I just let it lean in among the roses. It's easily one of my best filler perennials.
