Nice find on the sanseveria, Stush. Thumbs up I probably would have done the same and give the others away as gifts to my gardening friends. Is your rhipsalis by any chance acanthorhipsalis? I bought one this spring. It hasn't bloomed yet, though.

That's a nice score and in good pots too. Just make sure they drain but knowing you, you've checked already..... Whistling

It's 'Bantel's Sensation' by the way. I have a Sansevieria friend and he has taught me a lot about this cool plant. Especially to get the names right Hilarious!

Yes they are Bantel's Sensation and there are 6 plants in each pot. They were filled with water and had to drain them before buying them. I just can't figure how they are so good looking. They were there for several months and was filled with water the whole time in a air conditioned store with artificial lights. I have told them in the past to not water the Sans but the clerk told me that he does and they love it. Which I told him not so. Which I wasted my time. But now? What's going on? I know Sans but I am confused.
Debbie, It is and look at the picture. I have labled it. Orange flowers they said? In a few years I may find out.

By the way, My proposal to put into the plant data base was refused due to Zulu saying it doesn't exits. Or maybe I misspelled it.

Stush, the conditions you described of wet air conditioning I cannot say was a good situation but I have seen them growing in a bog situation in Puerto Rico.

I always thought they liked it dry but the ones in PR in the bog area in very dark areas were as tall as me and looked so happy to be grown in that condition.

Sans were the only plants of my mom-in-law that survived their month long flooding a couple of years ago in the Phil, her garden in about 3 feet of water. The plants thrived in it..but I guess what kept them going is the consistent hot tropical temps they have..85F to 95F. I think as long as the temps are mild and not too cold, the plants will not mind getting a lot of watering even standing water as such. By mild I'd say temps around 65 to 70F. Just my observation.

That is what I think is why they do good with a lot of water when it is hot. Early this year when it was in the 90s and raining everyday my Sans have grown a lot.

I almost killed my Sans two years ago, having left it outdoors during winter, in the cold and in the rain. Had to repot much smaller, kept it indoors for about a year, and took awhile to recover. But it did, though it has reverted to just green coloring. This summer it is outdoors, but in the shadier side of my patio, and gets daily watering. It is enjoying that daily morning shower especially when our temps goes above 90's to 100's..it is so happy to get refreshed by water.

I am learning a lot from it..applied similar water drenching to my other succulents, hoyas, orchids, amaryllis, epiphyllums, cycads etc..and all of them much improved. I guess in my area since it is very, very dry, and very warm, during summer the plants will not mind daily watering since Mother Nature has none to give for us at this time of the year, and besides all my plants are in containers..so the dry out is faster too.

Tarev,
That is the first time I herd of a Sans doing that. I know if grown form leaf cuttings it would loose it's variegation but not from rhizomes or stolens. I too would like to hear more.

You are right Stush, it did the reverse variegation on the leaf cuttings that I managed to salvage from the dying mother plant.

This was the mother plant, when it was severely stressed in Feb 2011. The plant was collapsing already from the base. Leaves folding and breaking, so sad when this happened then.

After letting it dry out & repotted, I was left with this for about a year, very slow growing and recovery:
Thumb of 2013-08-02/tarev/f0d4a7

I repotted again in a smaller clay container, and in late spring brought it out to our shady side of patio. Summer came, and the heat waves, watering daily..and plant is much better..all new growth are green with waves of white..oh well..at least still alive and going stronger now:

Yup that's sweetheart hoya - variegated..it is enjoying the outdoors too, but in shade Smiling I almost slowly killed it early Spring this year, first time to bring it out, getting severely sun burnt, moved it to different areas in the garden...glad it recovered when I placed it in shade beside the Sans.
