Nice, I've got a nice sized black cardinal, I really like it, but it wants no direct sun at all, but wants bright light to grow with any speed at all, they don't grow very fast under any conditions.
They are really pretty tho...
Please tree mail me for trades, I'm ALWAYS actively looking for more new plants, and love to trade!

Dave: Very nice additions to your houseplant collection! Thumbs up

Drew: Wow, that Philodendron inflorescence is really gorgeous, is that Black Cardinal? I don't know why I thought that all Philo's would had greenish inflo's. Smiling

I hope you don't mind that I proposed to move your photo of that beautiful P. maximum over to the database; there's currently only one photo of maximum, a single leaf: Philodendron maximum

They thought the totem was a Pine tree. I caught two running around it when that leaf was first starting to develop, Evan. I agree

I created this thread last August when I purchased these two plants for my office. The came to me in 4 inch pots. Here they are today growing in my office in 15 inch pots. They get no light other than the florescent lighting in the office. I did spot up the Black cardinal with a product that I used trying to get rid of some flying gnats. Didn't work but going to this bottom watering pot got rid of the gnats. Now I have to wait for the plant to grow to replace these leaves.

The challenge with the Gloriosum is trying to keep it in the pot. The first photo shows that I ignorantly place the growing tuber in the center of the pot without giving consideration to which way it would grow. I now know that I should have placed it near the other end of the pot as the second photo shows that it has run all the way near the far edge. Guess I will have to repot soon to either a bigger pot or try rearranging it in this pot. I love this plant and it likes this environment as it is growing like a weed.
