Please post photos and details of your favorite pergola-style arbors here! The one in the photo is a Dura-Trel structure made of infused PVC.

Do you have any of those Dura-Trel trellises and arbors? If so, do you like them? Smiling

Yep, I got several of these last season for my parents' yard. I wanted to try them out before I decided whether to carry them. Sue also has one now... so she could give some feedback as well.

The arbors and trellises were very easy to assemble and I really like the mocha color. I must say, some of the styles are sturdier than others due to the design. I prefer the ones that have the vertical pieces feed directly through the horizontal pieces rather than those that weave through, especially since plants are trailed on all of the trellises and arbors in my yard and also my parents' yard. The constructed structures are much sturdier when the pieces feed rather than weave. As a result of this discovery, I'm only carrying the feed-through designs on my site. There are a LOT of DuraTrel designs available online through various retailers... many more than just the ones that I currently offer. So, if you are looking around for them, carefully check the pictures to verify which ones have the feed-through versus the weave construction.

I read a lot of wholesaler feedback about the company's customer service and product performance before placing my first order as well. They appear to be a really well-respected manufacturer that has stood the test of time (20+ years).

This is the arbor I built last year. Had a gourd growing on it then, this year a lemon cucumber climbs the post.

I'm not quite sure if this is a pergola style arbor. It does have those cross members on the top. It's more functional than beautiful and was made to be strong.

The second picture I found and loved what they did with the door. I couldn't find doors just like the picture but found some with panes of glass, first picture is my rendition. Later I want to put some stain glass in the window panes and a white picket fence on either side.

Great idea, happgarden! (and I think it would be beautiful with stained glass panels in the windows.)

My brother built me 2 arbors any years ago. I think most carpenters could make it from looking at the photo.

This was my Mom's and out by her flower beds. Mom passed in Aug. of 2015. My niece bought Mom's house and didn't want the arbor. None of my siblings did either, or they didn't have room for it. I had been wanting one for a long time. The Spousal Unit and went and rescued it. It needed a bit of repair, and has green stuff on it. LOL I'm not going to paint it for 2 reasons. Number 1 is because if I scraped all the green stuff off, it would probably fall apart, and Number 2 is I HATE TO PAINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mom had a little birdhouse wired to the top, so we brought that too. I was falling apart.........you can see that the SU re-roofed it.

I bought some tiny solar lights and wound them all around the structure..........115 feet of them. Rolling on the floor laughing This summer I hope to have hyacinth beans growing on it.

Hi everyone (working my way about the forums so I slowly get to know you all....).

Saw this topic and it's one I can add a photo to. This one my late hubby built fifteen years ago when setting out our garden design. If I remember rightly, the pattern was inside of a U.S. Handyman magazine. It was featured on the cover and we thought, yes, that looks good for us.

Years passed and it has had ivy geranium growing up the trellises; then clematis, later ... a deep red mandevilla. Now it's left bare to help save it deteriorating.

What a pretty garden and that is a fantastic pergola he built! I can see leaving it as a piece of art instead of growing plants on it now.
