I've had 3 frosts already! Only -1C, but still enough to make the lawn white and put a droop in the container plants. The garden is still going strong, though, and the temperature is supposed to go up to 25C today.

Temperature hit 0ÂșC here this morning, but does not appear to have given frost yet.
My geraniums (pelargoniums) are still out on the back porch.
I need to bring them in this weekend, as frost will come soon.

It's turned warm again here. However, I expect to have to move all my potted plants - oleanders, fuchsias, cacti - from the deck to the greenhouse soon. Keep a close eye on those geraniums, Caroline!

We have had a couple of frosts here, had to harvest my daylily seed pods to finish maturing inside. Rained last night and this morning, more expected over the next couple of days. Cool 10C/50F.

We've had a couple too. I've moved all the plants in that I'm going to, but I haven't dug my potato's and carrots yet. It seems like the summer just flew by and I'm sure not ready for the cold yet, but I guess I'm never ready for that! Sad Blinking

I have moved the geraniums to the garage.
Tomorrow I will spray them for bugs, and bring them into house later in the week.

I agree Susie, summer went by way too fast, I am not looking forward to the long cold winter. Sad Weather was nasty here today, windy, cold and rain, was so glad I didn't have to go anywhere. nodding

It was a beautiful day here today, suppose to be tomorrow also. Then colder and colder. Usually Sunday is my day for rest but there's so little time and so much left to do outside! I moved some plants and planted my last perennial plant that I got a couple of weeks ago. Still have bulbs to plant and plants that I dug for a spring plant sale to winterize. If I get time there's a couple more big plants that need to be divided. Then there's the potato's and carrots. Maybe I should have rested, I get tired just thinking about it. Whistling Hilarious!

What was the last perennial plant you planted, Susie? My last plants to go into the ground were: Euphorbia polychroma 'First Blush', Scabiosa graminifolia, tree peony 'Zhu Sha Lei', Digitalis x 'John Innes', Mahonia repens, and Potentilla fruticosa 'Daydawn'. My fall bulbs haven't arrived yet.

I planted Sedum sieboldii also called October Daphne Sedum. I had to move something in my rock garden before I could plant it and I finally got that done today. I'm not familiar with the other plants that you planted, I'll have to look them up , but I love, love First Blush Euphorbia! My main bulb order is suppose to come this week but I have some here already that I could plant as soon as I get time. Smiling

I figured that since purple-leaved Euphorbia polychroma 'Bonfire' survives in my garden, 'First Blush' would too. I'm always looking for more hardy plants that deer don't eat! I'm not sure if I'll be able to love the combination of pink leaves and yellow flowers though, as I don't like that dwarf spirea bush with yellow leaves and pink flowers (I have one, of course). I don't have Sedum seiboldii at the moment. I grow a number of Sedums just fine, but I find the grey-leaved Japanese ones tend to dwindle away - I'm not sure why, but unreliable winter snow-cover is probably a factor. Most of my garden is very open to the sun and wind. I just finished planting a new flower garden that is surrounded by trees and bushes, and I have great hopes that the snow will stick around longer in it.

The plant doesn't have much pink until after the yellow bracts have faded. So maybe that won't be such a big deal for you.

We got freezing temps here last night, so all my morning glories are toast (and cold toast at that! Hilarious! ). Got to get them pulled down before it snows. Didn't get that done one year and the weight collapsed the arch I grow them on! I was notified that my bulbs have been shipped, so with any luck I'll get them planted before the ground gets too hard to plant.

Cold toast - groan! I just realized we don't have a "groan" emoticon, just Rolling my eyes. .
I've had notification that my bulbs shipped, and they were supposed to be delivered today, but nothing arrived except junk mail. Postal delivery is slow in my area. I hope Canada Post keeps my parcel cool over the weekend (some hopes). Woofie, is the US postal service affected by the government shutdown? Are your bulbs being sent by mail or by courier service?

Fortunately, the postal service is NOT affected. But, grrrrr, don't get me started.
I just have my fingers crossed because I ordered these bulbs from Michigan Bulb and LOTS of people are telling me that was NOT a good idea. They do have a bad rep, but I've ordered a few plants from them in the past and had good luck, so maybe they've improved. Or maybe it depends on what area of the country you're in? Dunno, we'll see!

Snork! Hilarious! I do intend to report on their performance, tho. I think it's only fair to report good experiences as well as the bad. And I'm very much hoping that this will be one of those positive experiences!
