Happy Thanksgiving!

My son will be here for the weekend, he lives in Delta so not too far, takes about 3 hours.

Happy Thanksgiving Weekend! What are we all eating? I'm (or rather, DH is) roasting a chicken, 'cos a turkey is too big and DH hates ham. No pie for dessert - I'm dieting - but I have a good supply of those delicious Honeycrisp apples.

We are having prime rib roast, gravy, mashed potatoes, corn and maybe sauteed zucchini, was going to have sweet potatoes but forgot to buy them. Hilarious! I am going to try a new recipe for dessert, a pineapple cake with whipped cream. Seeing as my son is visiting I had to cook one of his favorite foods, so last night for dinner we had breaded fried chicken, potatoes and steamed snap peas. I will be dieting after Thanksgiving for sure. Rolling on the floor laughing

My daughter cooked a turkey roast with all the trimmings.
She did brussel sprouts differently:
Cut them in quarters, baked them until crispy, then tossed them with lemon juice and parmesan cheese.

I don't care how Brussels sprouts are cooked, my taste buds still don't like them! My DH adores them, though, so he has them all to himself. I guess they're one of those "you love them or you hate them" vegetables. He loves rhubarb, too, which I also can't stand the taste of. My idea of dining hell would be a serving of Brussels sprouts with rhubarb on the side, sprinkled with coconut. What would your least favorite meal be?
P.S. We had a hot curry made with ground turkey yesterday, and today dinner is roast chicken with green beans.

I had no idea that there is a 'Canadian Thanksgiving'....but it sounds like a good idea. If I were closer I would come crash the dinner that all of you guys are having and have another one here in November....lol....'Cause it all sounds yummy right now.

Happy Holiday!

Isn't it great that in Canada we have an extra month to lose the weight we put on at Thanksgiving, before we overeat at Christmas?

Hurray! Hilarious! Either that or you have an excuse to keep eating a month longer because you want to wait and make a New Years resolution to lose the weight ! Whistling Smiling
