Hi Calin. How are things going in your garden?
So far my Bukiniczia cabulica is loving our cold wet weather. How is yours doing?

This little Nortoft's Beauty has really acquired some lovely cold weather color.

Thanks to @fixpix
He is the one that showed me this interesting plant, I just had to have one after that. Now I hope it makes offsets, or seeds, or whatever it does, so I can have more of them. Big Grin

Someone who grows them has this to say:

Grown for its rosettes of blue-green leaves with white veins. The plant is monocarpic (dies after flowering), but may multiply by forming offsets if it is not allowed to complete its sexual reproduction cycle (by removing flowers as they appear). On the other hand, some say it reseeds well. Probably all depends on its setting... Native to Turkey.

I agree Lynn I love these little plants! @cdsSister
I brought mine indoors, one is doing great and the one that I'd left outside longer is looking sad! I like the coloration, but I don't think it bodes well!
Here are photos, they're in 8inch pots so they look smaller than they are! And both look like they're going to bloom, but they've had this look for months now, I think the cold stopped them mid way, don't know what they're going to do???

Thank you for the link and information Marilyn. I love this plant so much. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will either bloom and give me seed, or produce offsets next year.

Wow Greg. Great photos. It does look like they started thinking about blooming. Maybe they will complete the process next spring?
Love those tiny semps.

Marilyn we'd cross posted, so now I'm going to pinch the top off of the one! I think I'll leave the one that looks pinkish alone, and let it do its thing!
Thanks!!
Thank you Lynn! Thumbs up

Gosh... MY Buki kicked the bucket long ago. I was a smart guy and moved it to a sunnier location (as sites suggested).
And well, it did OK for a couple weeks and then just shrivelled and died.
Guess I should find some seeds somewhere... maybe if yours bloom?

Calin, aren't you the one with the 2 Buki's in Feb of 2013 that started the group (Lynn, Marilyn and Greg) on the Buki craze to find them? and then Marilyn got ahold of a few Black Market ones and distributed them...???
AND you don't have them anymore? really? Confused

It is being sold around the world under several different names. I found this site that gives great information on the name.

Bev,
Re: black market sale of the buki. Hilarious!

It wasn't black market. They were offered first at Den. Botanical Garden sale, but I arrived too late and they were all gone. Whistling
Then went out to Timberline Gardens, a nursery in which the owner is associated with Den Bot. Gardens and they had a bunch.
I only bought the 4 which I sent on to Lynn and Greg.

It is neat to see how they are developing and growing. They are still in the catalog at Sunscapes Nursery in Pueblo CO if anyone is interested. http://www.sunscapes.net/Pages...

Maybe I will look for it again in the spring.

Bev, I did not keep one as, at that time, I was afraid they would not survive here. Now I am finding that I am a bit more interested.
So I might go and get one for myself and put it in my bitty rock garden.

I did find an online spot that sells seeds of the plant from France. Too bad I did not know about it while you were on vacation there. It might be a fun place to visit.

I posted this link already on the database picture but worth it to add here

"FYI Seeds are sold through B and T Seeds World Wide in France"

http://b-and-t-world-seeds.com...

About May, the big maybe is still in my thoughts for that but I will try. I would so love to meet all the fun people who add so much to the ATP family. Disregard what Lynn says, she thinks a stone or chicken grit are fun.

Just saying ;;no expectations
