Not exactly a garden here, but it sure was pretty yesterday, as the sun came out.

We dodged the first snowstorm ( an inch or 2) but not today. Lots of snow today! I worked yesterday so I could just hang out and enjoy it. Maybe go snowshoeing later. The skiers are cheering. At least it's not 20 below!

Thank you for reminding me why I moved from Chicago to Southern California Hilarious!

Funny tidbit. When we got here in '87, we had moved ourselves and unloading found we had taken an ice scraper and a snow shovel which were quickly disposed of.

Yep, it's nice to be able to see pretty pictures of snow from afar. Sort of like enjoying the Amorphophallis without suffering the fragrance.

Ted, the Fuchsia in your first picture above sure looks a lot like one of my New Guinea impatiens. Gorgeous color. I think my white begonia is trying to tell me something, it made a little leaf on one of the big flower scapes! Never seen one do this before, have you? I'm making cuttings of this huge plant and getting ready to re-vamp the whole hanging basket it's in.

About all I've got blooming nicely right now besides orchids are the Shooting Stars Clerodendron which I really didn't think would make it through our 'winter' weather the last few weeks. Usually when it drops below 40 they burn and pout and drop all their leaves and stand there naked for the next 3 months. Now, if it will just stay warm . . .

I have had that happen a couple of times, but never grew any further, Elaine.

When are you going to the show, Carol

Elaine,
Mentioned your post to Lynda and she said, "well of course, New Guinea impatiens. Didn't you read the tag." *Blush*

Your plants still have tags, Ted? Hilarious! To be honest I haven't laid eyes on a fuchsia in many years - they just don't grow here. I figured it might be a new cultivar with upward facing flowers. Rolling my eyes.

No Elaine, our non-orchid plants don't have tags. Lynda was being a smart a.. She knows how I try to keep tags with the orchids, with varying degrees of success!! Hilarious!

Another in a series of cool, overcast, rainy days here. It must have something to do with Seattle winning the super bowl. Whistling

Nearly fell into the pool trying to get all the blooms in the picture on Brug. Charles Grimaldi. It's truly a wonder that the two big brugs I keep near my orchids have not stopped blooming all winter, despite at least a couple of 3-day spells of very cold weather and several nights down into the 30's. The pink one is a NoID, and has finally had to move out of the cage as it's just too darned big.

A look outside right now, it is supposed to turn over to rain later in the day and then finish off as snow. Better shovel before the rain....
