Lovely day at the Seattle Flower and Garden Show. I go every year to this and usually the gardens are just over the top. This some times makes it hard to envision any of the ideas going in a home garden. However this year, in my opinion they were the very best I've seen for years. PNW oriented and just beautiful
This is the front garden before entering the display area.
Gee, is it that time of year already for garden shows? Lucky you, Julia. I don't know if there's anything out here that's garden related showing at this time of year. I think in Feb. there's a Cat show, a Cocker Spaniel show, a coin show and a train show at the nearby event center. And one orchid show last weekend. That's it.
Well, thanks for sharing the photos and I'm wondering if anything inspired you or anything that walked out of the show with you?
Many of the gardens were showing white flowers witch I enjoyed. Seems as though I was taking pictures of plants I like but didn't get pictures of over all gardens. Did get a few though:
Also many of the displays had glass balls or other glass ascents.
Here is another one that was interesting. Earth in Our Hands
The earth was flat in the pavers but when you take a picture of it the earth looks 3-D. See the finger prints on the fingers.
Side shots of this garden
This was a formal garden. Love the white bit not my thing
Plenty of vertical plantings
Other gardens
Sedum was everywhere
This arbor was wrapped in sedum sod.
What do you think of this Evergreen pruned up as a flower?
Oh, I liked the glass ornamentation on this planter because I thought it was real plant (like gigantic pitcher plants) before I clicked on it to look closer.

Yes lots of ornamentation which has advantage of not needing to be watered. How do you water sedum above your head???
Again, thanks for the xtra pics! Makes me want to hunt down a garden show somewhere...but I hate to drive...
Drive?? I would have to drive 1500 miles to see a real flower show. And can't justify plane fare for a several day event. Although I did go down to Portland one spring to see the peonies at various nurseries and then went to Schreiner's Iris farm. Was really interesting but a cold spring so not as many flowers as I would like. And the rose garden had no roses and poured cats and dogs when we went there.
Mary, guess you would have had to wait for later in the season to see more of what you wanted. I hope there's more resources/shows for your other hobbies...
Oh, I look online a lot. Maybe next spring. This year I am gone for all April and most all October so while I could go see dahlias in Sept I will have enough of planes to last a long while this year.
