There are products like "Out- Dog and Cat Repellant " that you can put around these plants. Some products are made for inside and out and some are made just to be used outside. You would want to use the outside type. I think the big-box stores carry this or a similar product. It would be found in the "Pest-control/weed-control" section of the store.

Thank you so much for your help. I am new to the ATP and it is definitely an interesting and educational place. I am into peonies and hostas and I live around Atlanta. Spring is coming and soon to get fingers in the dirt.
Thanks so much.

We are all itching to get outside and play in the dirt. This winter has really been a doozy but next week looks like we will finally break free from the severe cold. At least it will be more typical weather patterns without any freezes. I am into tropical plants but grow vegetables and herbs from seed. I have a lot of those seedlings in my "Everything Else" greenhouse. My other greenhouse is my "Orchids" greenhouse. Hopefully I can plant some of the cool-weather vegetables in my raised garden and the cool-weather herbs into pots in a couple of weeks.
