But sorry, not my cup-of-tea.
These all look kinda fake to me.
And since I am a gardener and plant lover... I can't say I fancy them. Same goes for the art of bonsai.
Plus, how long do you thing those plants and "containers" will keep looking like that?
I bet all pictures were taken right after the final touches.
There's always issues like condense, algae forming, white markings from the water, and so on.

Yes, you are right Calin...but think of the pictures as inspiration for those that want to create something just like that for themselves. Wonder how many people thought of trying hypertufa after seeing your balcony pictures? Even if there was just one person, then you have helped inspire them. That's what I think these creations can do for us people looking at the water garden pictures. Though I can see someone thinking that your ingenious strapping system to insure that your pots don't hurl off the balcony and hit someone below could have been an "issue" to contend with... ...

Many years ago I did terrarium gardening. I had some that looked brand new for years. Depending on the plants, soil and moisture, the tops/lids have to come off the let the excess condensation evaporate. They really are fun for indoor gardening.

Even myself own such a thing. Well, it's more like a bowl, with water, shells, and a nice water plant inside, and some water snails (do they have a different name???).
I have it, cause I thought a Beta fish could live in it. Well, it died after about 2 weeks.

Yup, my cacti terrarium looks as good now as when I planted it, which has to be over 18 months ago. I remove the stopper in the top for much of the summer when the cacti are watered, but it stays in over the winter when I keep them dry. I do occasionally see a small amount of algae growth along the sides but it always dies off after a brief break from watering.

I'd love to see pics of yuor bowl and water plant Calin, I'm sure there's far more upkeep with one of those to keep the water fresh etc.

Sorry about the fish but hoping that what's left of your water garden is still comforting/exciting to care for?

Poor fish. They are so much fun to watch.

LOL... I guess I was silly when I bought that fish. You know the Beta fish? The nice blue or red ones, always sold in small plastic caps here... and supposed to be kept alone as they are fighting other fish, etc, and they can "live" without artificial help (pump and stuff).
I said to myself, how cool. A fish!
Well, I still have the tank and all inside, the plant is growing etc. But I don't look after it. I mean I don't clean it.
The rocks and shells inside are covered in nice green algae.
Better I take some pics today (if I don't forget!)

Calin, Can you put other kind of fish in there, after you clean the tank, that is? Can goldfish stay in tank without pump? Seems like if you aren't using pump, then it is most important to clean it manually on regular basis no matter what kind of live animal you put in there?

FYI - the thing about the pump is for oxygen (plants take up oxygen too and can be a contributor to fish not having enough in a small tank) If you can figure out a way to make bubbles that break the surface of the water - like a tube that draws a small amount of water from the pool and releases it onto the surface, this will add oxygen into the water and everything should be fine (it can also be fun to set up some sort of waterfall thing, and again the water falling into the pool and breaking the surface layer, will add oxygen into the water for plants and other things.

Well, I don't want history to repeat... Bev. And doing all that cleaning... doesn't make up for the excitement of having ONE fish
Greg... sounds really complicated. If I ever decide on this, it will be for a better purpose - bigger tank not just a bowl, and a lot of cute fish.
