This little bug is wandering around on my living room window frame, trying to get outside (it must be mad, there's two feet of snow out there). Its markings are similar to some pics I've found on websites, and I think it might be the Two-spotted Stink bug, in its red form (there's apparently a yellow form too), with the scientific name of Perillus bioculatus. Please can someone verify this ID?

Perillus bioculatus is a beneficial insect that eats the Colorado potato beetle. There are a lot of potatoes grown in this area, so it would not surprise me to learn that farmers are releasing these stink bugs to protect their crops.

That certainly looks like the pictures that come up when you google the name!

Thanks, woofie! I haven't seen the bug since I moved it from the living room to the mud room (I thought it might find some insects to eat among my house plants there), but I hope it survives until spring finally arrives and it can go outdoors and look for potato beetles.

Does the marking on its back remind you of the Taco Bell logo, or is it just me?

You're just trying to make sure I never eat another Taco Bell taco again, aren't you? Hilarious!

Or it could be the Arby's hat logo.
