I have a large amount of pecans I have picked and would like to sell them for $3.50 a lb plus shipping. If anyone is interested I can get pictures and see just how many can fit into the flat rate boxes.

We have ate so many but I must have picked 800 lbs last year. We can't use all I have. Yes they are a year old and been kept in a dark cool closet (smoke free home). It was a huge crop from the severe drought. This year there were non as they only bare every other year.

I use lots of pecans for my salads, pies and other recipes. What will the total weight and cost be, Sandy?

Yes, I am quite interested but need to better understand the expense.

I have these ones which are papershell and you can crack with placing 2 in your hand and squeeze.

I would put them loose in the box so more can fit rather than putting them in individual bags. In a medium flat rate box will hold 7.24 lbs. I can make it 7 if you would want even number of lbs. I don't have a large flat rate box so I have to get one before I can know how much can fit into it. These come out whole better than the round ones for pies

OK - when you find out, let us know about the quantity that would fit in the bigger boxes and what the flat rate is for each.

I also have these which about the same amount fit in a box. I am thinking I would get a thin plastic bag and line the box incase the post office busts the box. Wouldn't that be a sight to see?

The fee for a medium rate box is 12.35

So the medium flat rate box is $ 12.35 and 7 lbs of pecans is $ 28 so it would be seven pounds for a total of $ 40.35.

I have a large flat rate box and it holds 9 lbs of the paper shell and probably 9 of the round ones.

A lg flat rate is 16.85 shipping and 31.50 for pecans is 48.35

ok so for a medium flat rate it comes out to around 5.26 a lb

for a large Flat rate it comes out to 5.37 a lb

I don't have a good handle on them in the shell as I rarely buy them, though I like them.

I know what you mean. We crack alot of them and then shell them. David picks most of them from the shells. I love to get the ziplock bag out of the fridge and snack on them. I really love pecans.

I have decided to lower the price to 3.50 a lb so others can enjoy and I don't have so many to crack. I know I have atleast 200 lbs I need to do something with.

So do the math for me - what's a large box cost altogether?
And a small box?

I love them but I never get them because they cost so much!
$10 shelled here.

a large box holds 9lbs 31.50 and postage is 16.85 +48.35 that comes to 5.37 a lb

A medium holds 7 lbs 24.50 + 12.35 +36.85 that comes out to 5.26 a lb.

A small flat rate would only hold a lb. Let me know it you want papershell which are easier to crack and get out whole and the round ones are a lot tougher to crack and come out in pieces. I will top the box off and it will be a little more than 9 or 7 lbs. No charge and no sense not filling it to the top Lovey dubby

Joy yes I can bring you 10lbs to the RU. Which do you want?

OK, I'm interested but I don't have money yet.
May NOT next month even.
So forge ahead without me and if, when I DO have some $ you still have some pecans, I'll get some!
