I have decided to do my front yard containers & window boxes pink & white. In 2012, used a lot of Supertunia Vista Bubblegum, which is my fave petunia and loved the display that year. I just pre-ordered 50 Bubblegum.
Here's what they looked like in 2012. We face NW, with large mature evergreens that shade the front yard. Vista Bubblegum seems to do fine with the part sun conditions
Yes, mid to late May, depending on weather. I had used a bi-color Whispers Apple Blossom petunia in 2012 and will need to find something else, since that variety will be near impossible to find locally.
Joanne I can't wait to see this years flower show. You always do such a spectacular job of planting and caring for the plants. I remember the photos from past years.
Thanks Lynn! It will all depend on what the garden centers have. I'm travel a lot with my new job and don't have the energy or time to do major seed starting
Mulch all pots with bark mulch and use big pots. We don't really get "hot" temps here and the nights are very cool. Rarely get over 30ºC (86ºF) and on those hot days our nights still go down to 15ºC (60ºF) I water the front every 3rd day or so and the back every 2nd day when it is warm
I have my hoses & wands set up with quick connects & shut off valves so I can hook to another hose or change out the wand in a snap. It saves me a lot of time. I also water until the water drain through the drain holes
That is just beautiful. I plant Caladiums in my boxes and last year I planted diamond frost euphorbia in with them.
Life is Great! Holly
