These pictures are from this week here in Central Florida. It isn't bleek yet it is Winter here and we have our own kind of cleanups heading our way to create our particular type Cottage gardens. I've also just created a natural aquarium in the greenhouse this year as of this week. 55 gallons and should be interesting. I haven't decided on which fish I will raise in it as it is mainly a planted tank. The water changes will be siphoned to the plants in the greenhouse. I have several ponds around which have helped getting the naturalness going and lots of aquatic plants. Daphnia, Tubifex, and Copepods abound in the system for any others who may also grow water plants and are interested in aquaria. Thats another unfolding story though............. I tip my hat to you.

The back gardens are another whole story! I will be sharing them here too. Hope other Floridians will share in with there cottage Gardens too! Smiling

New scenes coming soon. Keep looking in. I purposefully showed our form of Winter bleak just so to compare it to our Spring and Summer changes 2014. You will find it interesting,.......through the seasons yet,......... and especially when you get growing again in hard Winter areas. We only share zonal similarities a few months of the year its true with some plants, and its wonderful that while we all can grow similar things at times of the year, the diversity keeps us in appreciation of our styles and abilities in Cottage Gardening.

Things are happening fast now here. Gotta love Florida!

You will love our Spring pic's. I will love yours too!. Won't it just be fun to do so. I will be telling you Northerners how beautiful your bulbs and gardens are soon, and with no doubts vice-versa. Please more long shots of your Cottage Gardens this year though. Smiling

Single Flower shots are pretty, yet I love seeing them in the gardens with whats around them on this forum.

I know Veronica.

It was silly for me to start this thread I think in some ways........; as nothing is ever going to compare to Northern Cottage Gardens............................; what did I just say? Blinking Confused Hilarious!

Actually, Cottage Gardening is much in the same time frame in the South as in the North. The difference is simply;... that our already green and early bleak gardens haven't flowered yet. What is just greening in the North is of high excitement to those who share the locale, and I have realized that few from the North are interested in our Southern developments. The pictures I have shared here for instance so far this year,.... are as to me the same as Northern Garden pic's of bulbs coming out of the ground from the snow phase in comparison..........................................

Cottage Gardening is somehow thought of as a Northern thing I feel, and the North is wrong . I will prove it here as the season grows. Northern gardeners best comment on my developments down here if you expect me to comment on yours in other Cottage Forums! (Said with a sense of humour and a definite tad of truth backing it. Smiling )

We All are on sites like this to share together, and I flatly believe that no one of us in any zone is any more interesting then the next. Attention from me will be given as attention is paid. I tip my hat to you.

Thank you Veronica.

David

You have certainly piqued my interest in Florida Cottage Gardening. I guess I am starved for garden talk and just wish we could get more comments going. Here is a pic I took this morning. Had to act quickly as the rains are coming and the beauty will not last long.

Looking forward to the pic's Veronica when you can!

I've been having computer glitches lately too.

I do look in on other threads here and hopefully we will all be blending and sharing together soon. I didn't start this thread to isolate myself other cottage Gardeners. I was thinking that others from the South or those more North of us as yourself, would find it fun as an addition to the forum.

We'll all be growing soon and then will be happily sharing together. Thumbs up I tip my hat to you.

Some kind of Cherry. Sargenti maybe not sure of spelling. It is in full flower today. The rains didn't hurt it at all. I am going to post today's pic and then will atop hi-jacking your thread with my pics. I will watch for more postings from Florida.
