Gee, now that I enlarge the photo and look more closely it doesn't look like it has the paddles of Opuntia. I wonder if Ferocactus are found in SW Florida? I know the Opuntia is native all over the state.

Not a native. And no paddles; this is a 'ball' type cactus.
