Anyone that would like to speak on a subject pertaining to gardening in any form just let me know. We have 1 that will demo self watering containers that are home made and very money saving.

I see their are some folks in Lakeland and that is not far from me. Just head straight north on 33 and watch for Pine Island Rd. Sign. There will be RU signs there. So ya'll come.

In case of rain it will be canceled but it will have to be a monsoon for me to cancel.

What a nice thing to do, Bonnie! There are a couple of Florida gardeners on the Orchids forum that would want to know about this, so I will send the link to them.

I'd come except I will most likely be out of town that day. Our daughter in Salt Lake is ready to pop a grandchild that week, and I will hop on the plane as soon as the baby arrives, to stay a week or so with her.

My tel. no is on a sign in front of my house and has been for many years as I had a home based bus. so don't care who has it.

We all bring a dish to pass and lots of plants to share. One RU we had about 300 plants so everybody got plenty and I got what was left over.
I always have a few door prizes and a speaker when I can get one. I also let everyone have clippers to take cuttings from my garden of whatever I have plenty of.

Guess everyone runs a RU a little different. Basically it is getting gardeners tog. sharing plants or seeds or whatever and make new friends and getting to see some old ones. We also learn a lot from each other.

BTW I've been to Opp years ago. It's not far from Laurel Hill, Fl. which is where my son used to live while he was in Air Force.
If you would like to come down you could stay at my house overnight as that's a long ride home and we often don't finish until about 4PM. Can you tell we share plant and garden stories.

Bonnie, that sounds like a super-swap on steroids! Thanks so much for the info and most generous offer. We're moving in a couple weeks, so I'm totally engulfed in that for the next few weeks. Sounds like an awesome time, I'll be watching for the next one.

Yes, we drive through Lauren Hill if we're going to west Destin area. That's really close to the highest point in FL, an usual landmark to 'bag' since it's not near any tourist stuff.

as i mentioned, I can't attend this year, but hope to in the future...
I googled, and I'll only be about 19 miles away.
