Just a couple of things I've been working on. The first is a mosaic bowling ball covered with mirror pieces the grouted with black sanded grout. I just need to clean up the mirror pieces the seal it. I have a clear gloss concrete sealer-I'm hoping that it doesn't cloud the mirrors.


The other one is a mosaic bird bath made out of a plant saucer. I have to admit that I copied one I saw on Flickr (almost exactly). It's cut glass/mirror square tiles that I bought and some small rocks. It's grouted with a light gray sanded grout. I just have to clean and seal it as well.

Thanks! I sealed it today (and the bowling ball, too) and I'm really happy with it. I feel a bit guilty that I blatantly copied someone else's design, but now I feel like I know enough to design my own now. I want to make another bird bath, but I need to figure out a sturdy pedestal for them. I want them to be fairly low (maybe 12-18"). Maybe a 10-12 inch azalea pot? (covered with mosaic, of course!) Any ideas?

They are both just lovely pieces. Great job.

You have to go with the flow, Gordon! Actually, I've never really done mosaics before and find it really relaxing Maybe you're right-nothing in my house may be safe from mosaic:)
