He laughs knowingly, all the time potting, plotting, with stealth and precision...

There have been a few great ones. Quite a few people fell for the one where he said he was purchasing GardenWeb.

One year Dave announced the Davex Garden Box that was a "new computing system running a special flavour of Linux that we are calling "Davex". The box will retail for $399 (without monitor) and will be a computer with one purpose in life: using DG."

Another year he said that DG would be having the world's first holographic chat room - the HoloChat. That one came with a long post of scientific gobbly gook (sorry Dave!) about electrons and a line drawing of his 'proposal'.

I remember all of those. He made them so believable.

It was hard work making them sound believable while also dropping enough clues so that when you go back and re-read it, they are all obvious.

Aww shucks, I missed out on all of those.

I have never liked April first jokes. I believe everything and I am not a worthwhile catch. By the time all is revealed I have woven it into reality: and discovering it is a joke means much work in unpicking all the neural connections. This is unpleasant and makes one unthankful.

I'm with you, Glen. But it's just because I'm a grump.

Glen, that is just how my mind works, practical jokes and April fool articles mess with my head.
