I have a four foot kiddie pool that I have some marginal plants in. It's about half filled with soil and I keep the other half filled with water. It has worked great for several years but I don't like the blue color and kiddie picture all over it. Is the a paint that will adhere to the plastic and still safe for the plants and any animal like frogs that might want to move in?

Since Krylon Fusion is safe for aquariums/fish I'm pretty sure it would safe for plants & other critters and they do make plastic specific paint.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.

I'm not sure it would adhere long term, and might crack and peel especially if your pond has extreme weather changes. Since it is just a small kiddie pool, what about draining it, lining it with black heavy duty construction trash bags and then reassemble. I think you would have to re-do this every few years as the sun may deteriorate it. But it would look nice, and be really inexpensive.

Had some paint left over from painting my swimming pool and tried it on a small tub. It didn't last long before it cracked off but maybe yours would last if it wasn't in the direct sun. Have to say pool paint isn't cheap. If you could find an old waterbed mattress being discarded that would hold up.
Good luck on your quest.

Krylon Fusion is designed for plastic and also indoor/outdoor so it should work. I will give it a try when I empty the pool when I move it to a more sunny location this summer.

Jay, let us know how it turns out. I tried to do the same for use as a duck pond, using all the stray half empty cans of spray paint in the barn (gray, green, brown) but none of them stuck well. They were all different brands/types, from Rustoleum to who knows what. I ended up pressure washing the pond back to the kiddy pattern of mermaids and treasure chests, and also got rid of the duck. I'd be interested in your idea though - still have the pond but no kiddos.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.
