Also sold as Sedum 'Silver Stone'. It seems the species forsterianum has a tendancy toward producing fasciated sprigs of growth.
This is showing up in my 'Silver Stone', so I have started isolating the growth that shows this unusual growth habit. This is a wonderful sedum in it's normal form, great seasonal color changes, but this fasciated form is so interesting. I do have to keep any new normal type growth pruned out, otherwise it will take over the fasciated growth. Looking at these photos I can see it is time to get the scissors out.

Here it is in normal growth with early spring color. In the summer it is solid spruce type green.

Oh my, that fasciated form/growth looks serious with the mighty affected stem...too science fiction for me. Rolling my eyes.

I think it is very cool. I love looking at it. I hope I can keep it going and have it live for at least a few years. I need to learn more about how to keep it healthy and strong.

Are fascinated semps the same as crested semps or are they two different forms as a result of the common cause of mutation? Who does really well with the fascinated semps?

that is really cool Lynn! I do think they are tricky to grow though.
