Hi Dave,

I have always heavily used the keys ^ _ ^ (but with no spaces, of course) to generate the smiley emoticon but it has recently stopped working or maybe it's working intermittently. I use the basic smiley a lot and find the key strokes easier. Of course, I can adjust my habits now if it's gone but all of my old posts are now cluttered with the instead of the emoticon they were supposed to generate. Not a high priority issue, of course, but I just wanted to know the scoop.

How funny, I thought I was the only one who ever used that to make a smily! A few weeks ago I disabled the code that converted that to a smily and just now I re-enabled it per your request.

Just make sure there is a space before and after it, with no spaces inside.

Oh, okay Dave, so you changed how is is coded then...
Before, you didn't require the space afterwards so many of my old posts (which originally showed smileys) are still showing the ^ _ ^ (without the spaces, though.)

I'll have to be vigilant to adapt to the new coding after years of the old habit!
I think I first started using it on the previous gardening site...it's been that long!

Okay, I updated the code once again so it'll work without the spaces now.

You and Trish create such a friendly site that it feels like family (a nice family, obviously.) I mean, what other webmaster would adjust coding because one person mentioned that they missed a feature.....and complete the change in less than 10 minutes time from it first being mentioned? I think it would be safe to answer....almost none!

Just had to try it, I could not help myself. But I know of no other site that would provide the personal hands on approach this site does, Dave is certainly an exception to the rules. I just hope we all appreciate it.
