I am not new to hostas... I became seriously interested in hosts in the mid-90's, but as time goes on I seem to be adding new ones faster and faster! I now have about 500 cultivars, but since they have barely begun to emerge this spring I don't know yet how many I might have lost. And since snow is forecast for tonight, I'm glad I haven't begun clearing last year's foliage. Here are 2 pictures from a couple years ago to remind me of what is about to happen, soon I hope!

Where are you at in Minnesota? I miss the state I grew up just over the border in Iowa but Minnesota was where we did all of our business.
Your hostas are beautiful

Hilarious! I love the name you've chosen, it made me laugh because I know just what you're talkin' about! When lots of folks here are showing their bulbs, I'm still under the snow with frozen ground. When their summer flowers are blooming, my bulbs are blooming. I think the only escape from that is to move, so I guess I'll always be running behind. nodding You have beautiful hosta gardens even if the wait is long to see them. Thumbs up

In response to 4susie'sjoy, my choice of "alwaysbehindMN" was not because my plants come up later or bloom later... it's because I never catch up with my garden work! Although right now, with new snow on the ground again, maybe that's a good thing! Question: I notice most of you have your location, zone, and "real" first name over on the far right side of the section above your message. How do you get that info there? And also the small photo on the left side?

You can do all of that in your profile. Click on the person icon between the I and the message icons.

Then you go to change my public profile and you can see where to put all that.

I think I mistook your meaning for your name because I think always being behind is a condition of being a gardener! Whistling Maybe we could get some input on that. Hilarious! So that's why I equated your name with the length of cold MN winters.

I am always behind too. I have a bad habit of starting new projects before I finish old ones. My excuse is that I need something to motivate me. Sometimes I get motivated right back into the house! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing
