We have a small yard and I like to move the umbrella stand in order to provide us some relief from the heat. We took an old pot, added some PVC pipe (big enough for our umbrella) added some lava rock and then poured concrete in the pot and left about 10 inches open from the rim of the pot. I added some wood dowels in the concrete while it was hardening to create drainage holes for plants. We then placed that heavy monster of a pot on wheels. We can now move it around and it looks nice. I can't claim credit for this idea. We saw it on a gardening show years ago.

Seeing it is one thing, but actually implementing it is quite another! Looks fabulous.

I wanted to say exactly what Bonehead said, but as I scrolled, my comment was ready!!
In the pictures, my eyes also fell upon two things. One is the chair. I studied the design and the seat rests on springs - it rocks!! How nice! Also the little dog decoration on the left of the second picture! Beautiful!

Thanks for your kind words. We love those wrought iron chairs. They are real comfy. I just have to get the pads on them. The little decoration is actually a solar lady bug that lights up at night.

Very interesting - that lady bug light!! How nice! Where did you buy it? Is it 'China'?
My favourite also is the wrought iron chairs. It's my dream to have one in my garden. Wherever I find it, I'm just attracted to it. I don't pass by without sitting for 2 seconds on it!! They are not abound here.
