Can anyone tell me what this shrub might be?
It is blooming now in Zone 6 and has a nice fragrance.
Leaves are slender and pointed at the end.
Flowers seem to be in the leaf axis and made up of small tubular shaped flowers in a small cluster.

Can't see the flowers clearly enough to be sure, but it looks like Autumn Olive:

Autumn Olive (Elaeagnus umbellata)

Depending on where you live, it may be listed as a noxious weed. It's certainly invasive just about everywhere it grows in North America (although I have to admit I rather enjoy eating the fruit produced by some clones).

I thought of one of the Abelia species, but I really can not see the plant/blooms well enough to say for sure.

OK I managed to get one good shot this morning in spite of the wind blowing.

A friend suggested it could be a tree. Which is possible since it's in an area that has been mowed a few times in the last few years.
