Well the project has began:

Thumb of 2014-05-06/springcolor/866b42 These were the concrete steps
Thumb of 2014-05-06/springcolor/1c0d2d After removing them.

Thumb of 2014-05-06/springcolor/c14375 All the stumps, we will remove this in a day or so.

Next step is to move a few azalea and some other shrubs. We will be making a wide gravel road down to the patio so that the tractor can be driven down to the front yard.

Love watching projects unfold. Where is this in your yard - I can't tell?
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.

It's in the front, NE corner, lake side. Then over by the shade garden and witch hazel, along wood fence line. Big garden that is overgrown.

Yes, but over the years we have put in retaining walls and have different levels. May need a small rockery to level this out. We shall see, still moving shrubs.

Have been working a few days on this project. Moved all the shrubs out and planted on another property. Hard work!!! Thank goodness for a small tractor!!!!

So that area will be tiered?? It will be a knock out. My ground is flat as a fritter. I tried to get the landscapers to build in some swales just for eye relief but the were not done correctly and just settled back. All they did was pile dirt loosely and cover with chips. Granted they were against the fences but they did manage to build a wall with large stones to give space of about 1 foot between the north fence and the hill they built for my falls and pond. I could probably do it myself bit by bit on a smaller scale if I didn't mind digging up all my hard won to survival plants. NOT!!
