If I had that kind of money to throw at a hosta, that would be it.

Pin stripes are cool. I'd have to be able to see it and touch it at $150 though.

Dunno how it would ever fit with less formal, traditional offerings? I like it. I really do.

Might be cool with variegated Kwanzo daylilies?

I've always wondered. If hostas grow easily and spread readily, why are they so expensive? I don't mean the new introductions (that I understand), but even older varieties at big box stores. Not a complaint - just something I wondered about.

arf2d2 Welcome!
I actually thought the hostas I had see in big box stores were reasonably priced, and I am pretty cheap. I picked up several last year, and they were all under $8.00. Those were in qt. sized pots I think.

Thanks. I know I've seen ones for more like $20 and up for no more than quart sized, but perhaps I'm thinking of less common varieties? I did get lucky last year and picked up some clearance ones for a buck or two (but it was pretty late in the year - maybe October or so).

I tried that last year at our Lowe's, I guess others were waiting also, because if they ever maked them down I never saw them before they were all gone.
