I have a little chaya tree that is mushy at the base. Can I cut it off and root it again??

FYI, you CAN root a chaya tree from the stem! I had nothing to lose so I tried it. Not only is the new cut thriving, but take a close look in the soil at the new little tree(s) forming from the old stem! Hurray!
