Does anyone with a Rion have the automatic vent openers? I (finally, after having my GH for about 11 years) bought a couple of vent openers from Harbor Freight, but then, in looking at the instructions on the Rion website for installing vent openers, find that I need some kind of "gripper" to insert into the channel below the window, to screw the lower part of the opener into.

Here's a link for the instructions from Rion: http://www.riongreenhousekit.c...

Any suggestions for what I might substitute for their "official" part? Thanks! Smiling

I'm not 100% sure I see what you need, but I mounted a small piece of aluminum angle with self taping screws, and mounted the "foot" to the angle the same way. Hope I was helpful.

Thanks, Ric ! I haven't actually done anything with them as of yet but have been toying with some different ideas and thought something like you describe might work. (I'd better try something soon or summer will be over... Rolling my eyes. )
