Everything is nice and fresh after the rains. Here is couple of long shots of the front yard.

Jo Ann, peeking mode is fun! Seeing what surprises there are and what survived the winter.

Very nice, Dianne!

It's the second time this week I have sprayed. Deer are still eating. Time for a new repellant.

How about a dog? Whistling just kidding. I stopped to the farm before hitting the road and just outside our electric fence were 4 deer, just as bold and brave as can be. But they don't jump the fence because of Thor, our livestock guard dog. Thumbs up

Seriously though, I feel for you having the deer eating the plants. It's very maddening!

Yeah, I am not good at that part. I usually try to get my son to do that for me but it hasn't been working lately.

Some random pics I took this morning, mostly Daffodils blooming now. The various little blue bulbs I added last fall are getting showy- they started sprouting later than I expected, and only a few were showing up at a time at first, but they're starting to make some visual impact.

Crocus blooming here. Not too sure why I have them all the way up on the cold and windy hillside when they should be closer to a window. Sticking tongue out It's not like they ever really bloom when it's a joyfully warm up there! The next batch I get I'll need to remember to do differently.

Neal - It must be so nice to have a large expanse of land to grow whatever you want to your heart's content.

Chelle - can you move your crocuses from the hill to closer to the house? Then you won't have to buy new ones?

Dianne, while it has been a blessing to have as much garden space as I could ever want, I've learned it can also be a curse- it's too easy to bite off more than I can chew, LOL.

Dianne,

Yes, I could move them, but they do look nice where they are and there's only a double handful or so anyway. I could use some more. Big Grin

Plenty of seed work going on here, but the gardens themselves are coming along very slowly this year. My earliest tulips are showing growth in south-facing areas, and most of the daffodils are getting close to the halfway mark. Even the hellebores are hesitant this year...new growth is still curled up and seems content to stay that way for now.

Chele: I wonder if the frozen soil has anything to do with slow emerging spring bulbs.
It seems the ground has been solid for much longer than I can remember. Ours has just loosened up a bit but still freezes at the surface when we have a cold night.

I'm mixing potting soil for sempervivum planters and getting them ready. Grandson will come this afternoon to help clean up and rake areas of the gardens where leaves ate thickest.
I am also taking apart the sprayer so I can spray repellant.
