J, I believe it's a brown anole. We had them by the gazillions in zone 10 (100 miles north of Miami). But it could be the crested anole. They look much the same until the crested raises it's crest --- virtually indistinguishable. And the color variations of individuals of both kinds vary from individual to individual.

My pleasure J. I haven't seen any since we moved up here. I've only seen the green anole's. That's all we had down south when we were growing up but in the last 25 yrs. or so, the browns & crested appeared & now a threat to them all is the curly tailed lizard which is an import & are quite large. I suppose they will eventually make their way up here.
