Just sowed: Shirley poppies, California poppies and phacelia.
This was direct in the ground.
Soon will be some biennials: For-Get-Me-Nots, Siberian Wallflower and Foxglove.
Sweet William too.

I started June off with portulaca, three types of basil, and the Asclepias curassavica that I didn't get sown earlier. Sure do wish I'd find volunteers here for that plant!

Which phacelia, Caroline?

Phacelia campanularia is blooming here now...love its super-fast growth and intense blue blooms. I always wish I had more of it as well.

I just did the sowing of Phacelia Campanularia.
There are a few plants of it, which either reseeded, or came in wildflower mixes sown last fall.
I also have the Phacelia tanecetifolia which should have been sown already,but will be late this year.
There are a few plants which have sown themselves.

I did find a self-sown Asclepias out there today...no idea yet if it's incarnata or curassavica, but I can hope for the latter. I have plenty of the former already.

I only sowed veggie seeds today, but I hope to direct sow a bunch of extra flower seeds tomorrow...just waiting on the rain.

It is nice to know that others are still sowing seeds.
I had a packet of Asclepias, but thought it might be too late.
I'll read the packet again.

Caroline, I'm way down here in Georgia and I'm still sowing seeds. Just replanted my zinnias for the third time. And I have lots of gomphrena, statice, craspedia, and other things to sow yet. But of course, I have until early Oct. or later for them to bloom. But still, it's really late for me. Things happen.

Bolanders Phacelia was sown some time ago.
It is supposed to be good for dry shade.
It is just seedlings now.

I have been planting daylily seeds and might do some perennials as well.

I must let a daylily go to seed and try those from seed.
Not all of them are hardy here so if I saved seeds from the hardy ones that I already have,
that would be a way of increasing the hardy ones.

I guess you never know what you will get from daylily seed, I suppose some of them will carry that trait(hardiness), and hopefully be pretty also.
