I posted a pic of these earlier in another thread. Can't remember where. Here they are after a bit of time to grow in. The Astilbe is going to bloom soon. There are two types of Astilbe, a heuchera, mini hosta, fern, some dwarf begonias.

I just love these big blue strawberry jars and usually plant them with succulents but this year I felt it was time for a change. Pink germanium and alysum.

Just re-potted this tropical passi, something a bit bigger and more decorative with a slightly taller trellis that I know it will grow over in a very short time.

Very pretty Holly, we've had a slow start here so I've nothing to show just yet, but I will in a few weeks.

Thanks Christine, I am looking forward to seeing your planters when they are ready. You are a zone colder than I am. I still don't have all my planters planted and some of the ones that have been planted haven't filled in much yet.

My wife advised me to move the Begonia 'Escargot' out of the back garden to the front porch so that she could enjoy it. I liked it out back but there is a very definite correlation between her happiness and mine. She found this old rusted plant stand, cleaned it up and painted it red. I put the begonia there and now wife is happy and so am I.

Looks like the Escargot is very happy, too. Love the plant stand it looks great. Our Escargot is in the GH and I would like to move it outside for the summer where I can enjoy it more. Really I would like to move all the Begonias out, I just don't have a spot ready for them yet.

Holly thanks for string this thread. Enjoy looking at others containers. Holly you are sure of to a beautiful start and Dave love that red plant stand. I'm just starting and really need to get moving on getting things done.

Certain evergreens like junipers, mountain mahogany and creeping rosemary have a cascade habit that I like to use as foundation plants for planting with small perennials and/or annuals for container plantings.

They look really great. Is that a Tiny Tim Euphorbia in the last pic? I have one and haven't decided where to plant it yet.

Holly, Yes that is Tiny Tim. Have only had it a short time, my DH is Tim and so is my older son. Thanks everyone.

I have a friend that has a name themed garden bed. All the plants in that bed have a name of a friend or relative. One of the plants is a small Holly.

What a good husband you are Dave. That is the first time I have seen a Begonia 'Escargot'. What a beautiful and interesting plant. And I love the red stand your wife provided, it picks up on the reddish color on the begonia leaves.

Julia, you may end up turning me into a minature evergreen lover.

Okay, I am way behind in getting my containers done. I did do just a few so far. This one I just did today, so don't have the full affect of the plant being just a bit taller and hanging over the sides. It will come.
No laughing now.

@valleylynn Lynn if my wife could see those containers she would have a fit. She was after me today to start looking for unusual containers. Where did you get them?

The last photo is one I got at Rite Aid last year, the first is a local potter from the Portland, Oregon area this year at the big Canby Hardy Plant Sale. And I can't remember where I got the middle container?

I just picked up a couple man & woman wall hanging type face planters. They are very interesting, not sure what plant I will put in them.
Here are a couple of my mini planters.

Oh Lynn, the blue head reminds me of the Salem trip we made last month. You never showed me the blue head but I remember it sitting on your coffee table (with other purchases) that Monday that we left town. Looks great with the new "hair" and I notice that the face is checking out whether you are coming back to take more photos of his most expressive eyes (his best feature...)

Love the mini planter combos Holly. I love that you have used a miniature hosta. I have not tried that yet.

I must confess every plant place I go to now I look at the miniature evergreens. I've convinced myself that I will be doing something with these hopefully this year.
