One little tree frog sneaked into my house, but I could hear him bouncing around behind a stack of boxes. I chased him for a while, then was able to put him outside.

The cat was still struggling with "THIS isn't right!!", but he would eventually have figured out that he could "play" with frogs the same way he plays with mice, and I didn't want that happening.

There's something cheerful and friendly about tree frogs! I guess tastes may vary, but they seem more upbeat and outgoing than toads.

Hhahahahahaaa too cute him popping out of his toad hole. You think he knew he was home?

We have Leopard Toads here. They breed in my pond. The fish eat the tadpoles. The ones that grow into toads then eat my fish. Circle of Life, eh? Petco gives me $5 each month because I buy so much pet food from them. I use it each month to buy gold fish to restock my pond. Hopefully some will become too big for a toad's mouth.

The welcome home pic is too good!

They look like 2 dif critters, ones timid and hidden, the latter looks bold and brave...with a silly lil mud hat!
I love!
I can drive 15 mins and find toads but I've never seen one at the farm, they really did a remarkable job of homogenizing the wildlife in central ky all those years ago...
Please tree mail me for trades, I'm ALWAYS actively looking for more new plants, and love to trade!

I guess toads and frogs are pretty much the same thing, I always thought of toads as being little insect eaters, bull frogs I could imagine eating fish, they get so big around here.

RE: Toads/frogs and cats. Don't panic if your otherwise healthy normal cat (or dog) suddenly starts foaming at the mouth. It isn't rabies....chances are she's picked up or licked a toad. Toads give off some sort of bad tasting stuff that triggers foaming in predators. This is why you never see a half-eaten toad next to the half eaten mice, birds, etc that Fluffy drags in. Rolling my eyes.

The tree frogs pretty much took over the new kalanchoe with the wide leaves - sort of like a lilypad on a stem I guess. You can nearly always find one if you look. It isn't always the same one because the size varies a lot.
