We need to encourage pollinators they are very scarce this year here in Texas. Smiling

The weather has been rather brutal this past winter. I can't tell yet how many we will have. I'm seeing some bees and some butterflies although not as many as usual - or so it seems. No hummingbirds at all yet. Crying

I was encouraged when I found lots of pollinators on the native plants, even though there are very few in my garden. I've been hand pollinating my summer squash! Blinking Hilarious! Just when I was wondering where all the bees are, I took a walk out in our back meadow and there they were, a swarm of honey bees on the winged sumac!! I didn't have my camera with me but when I went back today, not so many bees as there were butterflies. Earlier this spring, many bees were on the blackberry blossoms and the farkleberries, although a few did come visit my peach and plum trees.

I think people also need to be encouraged to preserve and grow native wildflowers.

I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown

Nice Hairstreak Christine.

I too have quite a few wildflowers in the garden, they often pose a problem w/ their tendency to be invasive, but it's worth the trouble as they attract so many pollinators which give me pleasure to view and photograph.

Thanks Tee for bringing that to our attention.
