I was gifted a most beautiful, large cyclamen this past winter. It is now in dormancy. I would love to bring it back. Any hints on saving these tubers?? ETA the leaves are dying but it continues to bloom! It was one amazing flowering plant!

Mine is the reverse, it is done blooming, but is making some leaves. I have put my cyclamen in the north side of my patio, shadiest side, just some bright light, and have been keeping it moist. I thought for awhile it will be totally done for during our recent heat wave last week, but it endured, as long as I keep it moist and in shade.

@tarev? Are you planning on digging up the tubers? I don't want them to rot in the soil and I wondered if they should be dug up. I had mine outdoors until lately when the temps went into the 90's and have basically stay there. I moved it into the A/C. I fear even on the shady side of the yard it would be 86ยบ. It is looking pretty badly now. But there are still 1-2 bright green leaves that refuse to die and a bud that wants to bloom.

My cyclamen is in a container. I was not sure how far along it would last, but was impressed how it is throwing out leaves now, as long as it is in shade. On our recent heat wave temps hovered 95 to 106F, but it endured, as long as I water it early in the morning. But weather cooled down this week (77 to 83F), so I do not know if that is helping it with its leaf growing attempts too. I have no plans of pulling it out. I wanted to see how it will fare this summer, in just that condition of care, keeping it moist but in shade.

I have success growing my Amaryllis in clay rocks and gel beads in a glass container..and looking at my Cyclamen..seems like a good candidate to similar method..so yesterday I repotted my Cyclamen in similar type of glass container.
Before repot: as it stayed outdoors in the shady northside of my patio..temps are just so fluctuating, 65F to 100F..

The glass container with no drainage, with the presoaked clay rocks and water gel beads:

So removed and cleaned out the soil from each tuber:

Repotted in the glass container; needs more clay rocks

Added more clay rocks for top dressing:

It is indoors, beside my Hoya shooting star and Phalaenopsis orchids..this is the coolest part of the house right now..cool air in the morning when window is open all morning..ceiling fan breeze in the afternoon..hope that will be enough for the plant. All tubers have leaves..so it is awake. Now to observe the next few days if it will adapt nicely. Will update later on..fingers crossed! Big Grin
