Last month @eclayne asked for a way to keep track with bloom times for his plants:

The thread "Can we have a way to track bloom times in our gardens" in Site Talk forum

I am pleased to announce that this feature is ready. You can now track certain events that occur with plants in your garden. To use the feature, go to your Lists page and you'll see all your plants that you have. Now, on the right side where you see the actions icons (Edit, delete, etc) you'll see a new icon that looks like a calendar. Click on that to view the events for that plant.

If you haven't added any events yet, it'll give you a place to add a new event. Choose the event type ("Bloomed", "Transplanted", "Harvested", etc) and select the dates. You can choose just a start date, or a range. (You can also add just a start date, and later on edit the entry to add an end date.)

Save your event and it'll then show up in your list. You can add as many events to a plant as you wish.

The events you add will be displayed inside your list, right next to the notes and other information.

In time, I can enhance this feature to make it display the information in a calendar format like eclayne was asking about, and perhaps I can even display some of this information obtained in the plant database entries themselves. Maybe this'll be end up being the start of a larger feature!

I wondered if you were designing something much more far reaching Dave and I see you have. Big Grin Thanks for adding a great new feature. I just gave it a try and it's very easy to use. Noting when I planted out tropicals (something I haven't been doing) and veggies will be a real help in future. Thumbs up Thumbs up

Ohhh, that's neat! I added comments for when my iris started blooming but I never marked the last bloom date. This would be great for daylilies too. Gives one an idea of the length of bloom time for any number of plants, great info to have! Thumbs up

I have added this as a "Growers Report" to the plant database entries. You can see an example here:

Lily (Lilium 'Lion Heart')

Scroll down to the area under the comments and you'll see a growers report from Calif_Sue.

Wow, way cool feature. Could we have an event for "emerged" and perhaps one for "maintenance" (things like deadheading, cutting back, dormant oil spray, etc.) This is so great! I'm especially looking forward to tracking how long a plant blooms, so love the range feature to the calendar.

@dave does the growers report automatically appear when we add an event to our calendar in our list or do you have to add it in the database?
