I really liked the Chicken feeders and old washing machine. Thumbs up

I would have liked the tires more if they were in Earthy tones though or even left original. Bright colors like that look great in a playground but compete and draw the eyes away from the plants, if plants were the main issue. Smiling

I'd keep that Gypsy cart inside! Love it;............the owners probably do. Maybe thats why it wasn't planted?

Anyways;... potted plants would be great set in it for a garden party look rolled outside on occasions! Hmmmmmm......."A Wedding!!!!",......errr, well maybe a Gypsy Wedding!

Unique and creative ideas - very nice! I have to show this to a friend of mine who has a whole garage full of tires that no longer fit anything. It never occurred to either of us to use them for planters!

Wonderful photos Cinda. I too like the chicken feeder and washing machine. Love the color of the washing machine. You could plant anything in it and it would look great. Smiling

I would not like them left black either. It looks like they did a great job of painting them. I actually find the bright colors lighthearted and fun. And when you look at all the other photos of that yard, it all fits together with the other yard ornamentation.
Buy the way, I just noticed the blue framed mirror on the board fence. Love it.

Awe now,

I wasn't being mean about those colorful tires. In fact I loved the tires! Thumbs up

I just saw the pretty tidy house in light grey with the charcoal shutters and immediately thought..........................;...Hmmmmmm!

"Wow! If those tires were dry brushed in shades of greys, they would look like carved stone planters with the black tread designs, and look incredible with that house! Thumbs up

I guess its a me thing. Paint me designer David! Hilarious!

I love personal expressions though, and it is fun bouncing around concepts in our discussion forums. That makes it real. Smiling I tip my hat to you.

I agree. That wagon is gorgeous. It is pretty without plants and when it is planted the plants will only be topping.

I like it when the pot makes a statement (the meal) and the plants are desert.

Well then,

Time to paint the house to match! I tip my hat to you.

Just the shutters alone to start;... to match the ones on the fence would be cool!

That would really bring the collection together! Smiling

Maybe the neighbors will follow the lead! Whistling I tip my hat to you.

Yes, the new photos show that color is their thing. It all ties together.
I find it interesting and fun. However, it would not work for me. That is what makes the world go round, all different perceptions of beauty.

I do like the idea of the carved stone look. That could work for my garden, if you can find your way through the weeds to get to the carved stone. Whistling

It seems this has become a bit of a debate. On one hand, I can agree with painting the house to match, or using neutral colors on the tires. On the other hand, wouldn't you want the garden to stand out rather than either blend in with or compete with the house? I also like both approaches to painting the tires, depending on how they are used. I'm not sure about that either way, but I LOVE this bright and quirky garden! You would absolutely have to smile and be cheered up if you walked by this yard Smiling Smiling Smiling

These guys have the ball rolling on a new adventure and I see their creativity and appreciate it. Once a ball rolls, one should not quit whatever your vision in my thoughts.

Creativity is a gift few dare to use for fear of what others might think.

I'm having the feeling that these folk are just in the early stages of what they are creating, and this place is going to continue to evolve in time.

The more color and garden art they add (and they do have a talent for organization) the more the look will blend.
***************************

I love that show "Extreme Homes" on HGTV, and one of my favorites was the one that draped an entire house in bottlecaps! Now that was creative!

If these folk keep up their dream, and keep adding they may well be on that show someday! That is cool! Smiling
*************************

While I am an artist, I still like my plants to be the main center of attention in my gardens, and I don't think this discussion is a debate actually at all;...................but more a fun discussion and sharing ideas.

I give these creative folk accolades Hurray! for their creativity in complete sincerity and believe in their plan.

Garden art has as much a right in a garden for those who create it as plants,...and as much as they love the art. Its their garden.

I have chosen to blend my house into the gardens. You would barely notice the structure for the plants when driving up my street.

...and that would not be most folks dream either~!!! I tip my hat to you.

Now you know!
