I've notice a lot of people mentioning slugs and snail damage so I thought I'd post this. Don't kill Rosy Wolf Snails - Euglandina rosea! They are carnivores and eat other snails, slugs and garden pests - they do NOT eat plants. They are the good guys.

Thanks for bumping this up and welcome to the ATP family! When I moved, I relocated all the Wolf Snails I could find to my new garden!

Thought I'd bump this up for Spring since I saw my first one of the year this morning!

Hurray!
I just found this thread, thanks!

I discovered the Rosy Wolf Snail in the yard and am thrilled. Sure does explain how and why the slugs have disappeared.

In places where they have been introduced they are not such a good thing but here in their native territory - southeastern US - they are very much appreciated.

They are awesome and do a bang up job too! If I happen to see one and a slug too, I'll drop the slug in front of it and watch it grab it .. you think snails are slow, but these when they find their prey can be pretty fast!
