Here is a hay basket planter I planted this year. It hangs on a gate. I chose "subdued" colors......

It's lovely Paul. The subdued colors give a feeling of rest and peace.

Thanks Lynn.......I have areas with strong colors....roses and iris....but also beds of Hostas which are cool. The basket is near the Hostas.....

It must be a wonderful spot to rest and reflect. The colors have a very calming affect.

I love it! All of the different shapes, textures and forms of the foliage really give it character.

Unfortunately I had to give up on using those liners; the jays around here just shred them into nothingness.

I planted sweet potato vines in my 3 hayracks. Actually, I saved the SP that I had in them last year hoping that I could coax them back into glory this year. They looked pretty skanky at planting time but they are "mighty fine" looking now. I will get a pic to post.

Here are the 2 haybasket planters; one photo with both and then a photo of each of the 2 planters. I thought the SP vines did great.
