They don't very often come out & about during the daytime but when you're familiar with their work, you don't have to see them to know they're around. They leave their holes all over the place. Roots of plants are exposed, sometimes things are almost completely dug up. If you don't watch your step you can twist your ankle in one of their holes. They leave dirt & mess all over your walkways or driveway or parking pad.
We have been known to shoot them in our lives. They can surely drive you to it. When you wake up & see your yard & garden looks like 100 grenades hit it morning after morning after morning; you can get just a tad peeved.
But we aren't into shooting anything anymore, even though sometimes the temptation is there. And it's illegal to shoot armadillos in this state even though they are not native. You have to call a wildlife relocation company & pay big bucks for them to catch them & remove them for you. Sounds like the legislature was influenced by the wildlife relocation businesses. Mo Money!
I could have had it; I really could have. I was so close. Within 10 feet. Instead of bullets though I chose to use my camera to shoot it with. I'm getting soft in my old age.
And it finally realized I was there
I know one day I'm going to regret my choice of weapon.
