Around here July has been fix-it month, in response to June which was breakage month. ("June is busting out all over!" ?)

The stock trailer has been rewired and no longer blows multiple fuses in the trucks, one of the fence chargers now works again, another is still unwell, the last of the trees and brush are off the fence of the south paddock and burned, and I will head into town in the morning to pick up materials for the new fence. The favorite shredder got rebuilt and I am catching up on the pasture weeds. The power company replaced our main transformer after we reported varying to no power supply to the house. The well got new pump switches so I no longer have to give the little grey box a sharp tap to get the pump to come on. The stupid Rubbermaid water troughs are leaking again and I plan to replace them with concrete - enough is enough! - Plus all the "normal" small repairs...

Happy July!

Well, currently it is 98 with 54% humidity, bright sun, and no wind. The weather gurus are saying it is an unusually cool summer; it hasn't been in the 100s, but cool...?

The hog-resistant fence along the river bank side of the south paddock is about half done. The concrete troughs are ordered. Only one more dead tree fell onto a fence, so we are making progress. I forgot to mention the collapsed septic tank - fortunately it is an old, abandoned tank and does not require real repair just filling in with dirt.

The past several days have been extra still and humid here. Today we started with 98% humidity, no wind, mostly sunny, and temperatures headed into the mid 90s. After just doing the basic morning chores, I am already in need of dry clothes, and I am having a hard time getting inspired to go back out to continue with the ongoing projects. One of the weather people compared going outside this morning to "walking into a dog's mouth". Well said!
