My Gordon's Gold philodendron has outgrown the home made spagnum moss stake I made for it last summer by a foot! I might make a new, taller stake but thinking about attaching an extension to this one, replacing the short PVC inside with a longer one. She probably needs a new pot to go with it as well. Thoughts, suggestions??

I don't have a suggestion, but just wanted to say, really nice plant, and well grown.

Sure is a lovely plant, Cheryl. I'd agree go for a big, new pot and a stake twice as tall as you think you need . . . it will go up as far as you give it room to.

To make the stake last longer, try 'guiding' the plant to go round and round the stake instead of straight up one side. This also makes the leaves closer together so the plant looks bushier.

Wow, great growing! That is a beauty and it sure has grown tall. I like Elaine's suggestion of guiding the plant around the stake as it grows taller.

You did realwell with it... it should grow stonger now... since it isa stronger plant that's doing it...something about it... makes me think I should be growing it ...

Thank you for your comments. I think a new pot and new stake is in order. I like the idea of twisting it around. I have 2 more starts that are about 5" right now that I think I will incorporate in the new pot to make it fuller. Can I pull the roots off the stake while replanting??
