I would agree, my best educated guess would be Anastasia. I picture of entire flower could confirm. Very nice moment you captured there. Thumbs up

G'day John --great picture of humming bird feeding on an oriental hybrid lily.Impossible for an accurate ID of your lilium from me, however it may not be Anastasia, as the pollen looks too light.Anastasia has brown pollen.

Good point, but it appears that the pollen in the picture is sun bleached. If so, I'd put my money on it being Anastasia. Smiling

Welcome! Paul. I, too, would like to know where you are located. Australia has always interested me, though I've never been there. I'd like to spend a couple days in Alice Spings to explore Uluru. Many great lily hybridizers from Australia. Stay with us! Thumbs up

Welcome Paul.
Lot of daffodil breeders there as well.
I'd like to visit the opal mines there.

Thanks for the welcome people.Lorn and jmorth--if you ever make it to australia, the outback is the place to see.In my younger days, like Lee Marvin, I was born under a wandering star and have seen both the good and bad of this country. Now that I'm an old bugger with full white beard, I've settled on 1.5 acres in the western districts of Victoria in a place called Nullawarre, just off the famed Great Ocean Road near the Bay of Islands. This is dairy country, so much cooler than Melbourne, warmer than Hobart, no frost and reliable rainfall.I'm within a bull's roar of some pretty wild coast line.I have quite a few koalas here, they don't do any damage and are always a welcome sight.Believe it or not, their roar and grunts wake you at night. They have nibbled at a few daffs early in the season.
Della, you will be pleased to know that I'm interested in most of the liliums that have caught your imagination and am breeding some interesting seedlings, but have registered none.Polly, I have recently become interested in irises and have siberians, japanese, tb and Louisianas.
My interests--liliums, daffs,English border carnations, dianthus, gerberas, fuchsias, glads, small bulbs, iris, heritage orchard, veges and could not be without a German Shepherd.
The lilium season has started for me with the first hansonii hybrid in flower now.Like most of us nutters, this year is going to be the best ever for seedlings!!
Regards
Paul

Welcome Paul. It sounds like you live in a fantastic place. Have always liked koalas, but have never seen one in person. Sounds like a neat spot you live in. Love the pix. Welcome sight as all of the leaves are falling off the trees around here.
